Fishing Guidelines for Friday

Here's the revised fishing rules, regulations and ordinances that apply to Friday's fishing. Please familize yourself with these in case you are quizzed by an independent audit team retained by the Competetion subcomittee.

  1. All ponds in the Main Injector are eligible for fishing.;
  2. Each team consists of two (2) anglers;
  3. Rankings will be determined by the greatest combined weight of five (5) fish;
  4. Each team member must catch at least two (2) of the five (5) fish total;
  5. The fifth fish can be caught by either team member;
  6. The fish should be alive when measured;
  7. Any form of bait is allowed (real or artificial);
  8. Two (2) pole per angler maximum;
  9. The event is scheduled from 12:00 noon until 4:00 pm with two (2) fishing periods and two (2) weigh in periods.
  10. The first fishing period, known as fishing period one (or FP1) starts at 12:00 noon and runs until 1:45 pm.
  11. The first measurement period starts at 1:45 and runs until 2:15. No fishing is allowed at this time. The anglers will meet at MI-60 with their three (3) largest fish for weighing. The fish will be released after weighing,
  12. The second fishing period, known as fishing period two (or FP2) starts at 2:15 and runs until 4:00.
  13. The final weigh in will occur at MI-60, starting at 4:00.
  14. Pictures are required of all fish caught.
  15. Three (3) scales are available (Tim, Tom and Steve). The average of the three will be used for the weigh in.

The plan is to have pizza on WH5East after the final weigh-in. Please bring $10.00 by Thursday for the pizza.

Scale Calibration

The Tournament Office commissioned a select subcommittee to evaluate and compare the fish measuring devices. Two competing scales were selected along with two weights. Each weight was measured with both scales and the results compared.

Test weight one - full bottle of water

Test weight two - Empty cup

Here's the results:

Based on the readings, the scales are very close. The average reading of the scales will be used for the official weigh in process
